For a few summers, my vacations were spent sailing through the Caribbean. During that time, I discovered parallels between sailing and life. While in a storm, a sailboat must sail directly into the waves. If the sailboat moves parallel to the waves, it will be overturned.
The first step towards being a good guy is to look at your self, recognize your strengths and weaknesses, and face your fears.
In John Eldredge’s book Wild at Heart, it says, “Every man needs to know that he is powerful, he must know he has what it takes.” A nice guy is one that operates out of fear, but a good guy flows from confidence. Determine to never again be overturned by the waves. How will you face the next wave?
